Paratypes: BPBM 34511 [ex CAS 51047] (4); CAS 51047 (53), 51050 (7), 51059 (4); LIAIP [ex CAS 51047] 1957007-10 (1, 1, 1, 1); NLU 64913 [ex CAS 51047] (4); USNM 346921 [ex CAS 51047] (10). •Valid as Oxyurichthys takagi Pezold 1998 -- (Larson & Murdy 2001:3601 [ref. 26293], Pezold & Larson 2015:6, 74 [ref. 33894], Fricke et al. 2018:336 [ref. 35805], Larson 2022:168 [ref. 39971], Okamura et al. 2023:24 [ref. 40943]). Current status: Valid as Oxyurichthys takagi Pezold 1998. Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: East Africa (Kenya), Comoros, Madagascar and Mascarenes (Mauritius) east to Palau and Fiji, north to southern Japan. Habitat: brackish, marine.
