absitus, Tomicodon Briggs [J. C.] 1955:65, Fig. 91 [Stanford Ichthyological Bulletin v. 6; ref. 637] Socorro Island, Revillagigedo Islands, off western Mexico. Holotype: CAS 2138. Paratypes: CAS 1567 (1), 1569 (1), 1655 (1), 1885 (1), 2132 (1), 2139-40 (1, 1); CAS-SU 17809 [ex CAS 1568 and 1884] (2). •Valid as Tomicodon absitus Briggs 1955 -- (Szelistowski 1990:504 [ref. 20183], Nelson et al. 2004:168 [ref. 27807], Page et al. 2013:173 [ref. 32708], Fourriére et al. 2016:449 [ref. 34668], Del Moral-Flores et al. 2016:608 [ref. 34923]). Current status: Valid as Tomicodon absitus Briggs 1955. Gobiesocidae: Gobiesocinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific. Habitat: marine.
