Holotype: CAS 90384. Paratypes: CAS 86511 (2), 86524 (1), 86532 (1), 201883 (1); USNM 396088 (1). •Valid as Scorpaenodes rubrivinctus Poss, McCosker & Baldwin 2010 -- (Sánchez-Jiménez et al. 2018:7 [ref. 36248], Grove et al. 2022:21 [ref. 41326]). Current status: Valid as Scorpaenodes rubrivinctus Poss, McCosker & Baldwin 2010. Scorpaenidae: Scorpaeninae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Cocos Island (Costa Rica) and Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). Habitat: marine.
