Current status: Valid as Stiphodon pelewensis Herre 1936. Gobiidae: Sicydiinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Java (Indonesia) east to Micronesia, Palau, New Ireland (Papua New Guinea) and Vanuatu, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia [amphidromous]. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
