Current status: Valid as Pseudogobius avicennia (Herre 1940). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Indian Ocean: mangroves in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
