Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:71 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Auchenipterichthys coracoideus (Eigenmann & Allen 1942) -- (Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:472 [ref. 27061], Ferraris et al. 2005:91 [ref. 28560], Ferraris 2007:71 [ref. 29155], Barriga Salazar 2014:115 [ref. 35745], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:86 [ref. 35633], Calegari et al. 2019:[86] [ref. 36961], Silvano et al. 2020:210 [ref. 38135], Koerber et al. 2022:56 [ref. 39235], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:22 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Auchenipterichthys coracoideus (Eigenmann & Allen 1942). Auchenipteridae: Auchenipterinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
