Holotype established in table on p. 14 if specimen is identifiable. •Valid as Oligocottus rimensis (Greeley 1899) -- (Bolin 1944:63 [ref. 6379], Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:178 [ref. 9277], McAllister 1990:201 [ref. 14674], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:499 [ref. 25968], Nelson et al. 2004:121 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:90 [ref. 37547], Page et al. 2013:124 [ref. 32708], Pietsch & Orr 2015:43 [ref. 34694], Kells et al. 2016:186 [ref. 35888], Burton & Lea 2019:67 [ref. 37205], Love et al. 2021:124 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Oligocottus rimensis (Greeley 1899). Cottidae: Oligocottinae. Distribution: Northeastern Pacific: southeastern Alaska (U.S.A.) south to Pacific coast of northern Baja California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.
