Syntypes: CAS-SU 821 (15), CAS 58602 [ex IU 8206] (19), FMNH 1865 (3), USNM 125123 (4). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:29 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:6 [ref. 12367], Gilbert 1998:34 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Rhinichthys osculus (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies -- (Sigler & Sigler 1996:117 [ref. 25943], Gilbert 1998:34 [ref. 23395], Scharpf 2005:39 [ref. 28940]). Current status: Synonym of Rhinichthys osculus (Girard 1856). Cyprinidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: Utah, U.S.A. [subspecies adobe]. Habitat: freshwater.
