ocotlane, Chirostoma Jordan [D. S.] & Snyder [J. O.] 1899:140, Fig. 18 [Bulletin of the U. S. Fish Commission v. 19 [1899]; ref. 2501] Lake Chapala near Ocotlan, Jalisco, Mexico. Holotype: CAS-SU 6160. Paratypes: BMNH 1900.9.29.61 (1) from Jordan, CAS-SU 6202 (7). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:66 [ref. 12291]. •Questionably the same as Chirostoma lucius Boulenger 1900 -- (Dyer in Reis et al. 2003:519 [ref. 27061] as ocotlanae). Current status: Uncertain as Chirostoma chapalae Jordan & Snyder 1899. Atherinopsidae: Menidiinae. Habitat: freshwater.
