Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:66 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Menidia arge (Jordan & Snyder 1899) -- (Miller 2006:192 [ref. 28615]). •Valid as Chirostoma arge (Jordan & Snyder 1899) -- (Espinosa Pérez et al. 1993:59 [ref. 22290], Barbour 2002:24 [ref. 27833], Dyer in Reis et al. 2003:518 [ref. 27061], Nelson et al. 2004:98 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2007:7 [ref. 30398], Page et al. 2013:99 [ref. 32708], Page et al. 2023:139 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Chirostoma arge (Jordan & Snyder 1899). Atherinopsidae: Menidiinae. Distribution: Southern North America: Pacific Slope of Mexico. Habitat: freshwater.
