Holotype (unique): CAS 60627 [ex IU 17285]. •Valid as Curimata binotata Pearson 1924 -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:11 [ref. 9708]). •Valid as Steindachnerina binotata (Pearson 1924) -- (Vari 1991:36 [ref. 19019], Chang & Ortega 1995:6 [ref. 24302], Vari in Reis et al. 2003:60 [ref. 27061], Netto-Ferreira & Vari 2011:527 [ref. 31707], Sarmiento et al. 2014:186 [ref. 35004]). Current status: Valid as Steindachnerina binotata (Pearson 1924). Curimatidae. Distribution: Western portions of Amazon River basin: Bolivia and Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
