Paralectotypes: CAS-SU 1010 (1), USNM 125116 [ex USBF 311] (2, ? including lectotype). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:73 [ref. 12291], Collette & Knapp 1967:30 [ref. 20211]. Lectotype established (as figured specimen) in caption to Pl. 176, p. 3271 in Jordan & Evermann 1900 [ref. 2446] if figured specimen is identifiable. •Valid as Etheostoma juliae Meek 1891 -- (Lee et al. 1980:658 [ref. 22416], Kuehne & Barbour 1983:115 [ref. 38055], Page 1983:96 [ref. 22189], Robison & Buchanan 1988:425 [ref. 23393], Page & Burr 1991:307 [ref. 18983], Wood 1996:300 [ref. 22394], Nelson et al. 2004:134 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2008:27 [ref. 30399], Page & Burr 2011:568 [ref. 31215], Page et al. 2013:138 [ref. 32708]).
