Holotype: CAS-SU 63242. Paratypes: CAS-SU 63241 (1), 63243 (1, in glycerin). •Valid as Ataxolepis apus Myers & Freihofer 1966 -- (Goodyear 1970:19 [ref. 19473], Swinney 1991:843 [ref. 36246], Paxton 1999:2209 [ref. 24788], Paxton in Randall & Lim 2000:602 [ref. 25122], Paxton & Trnski 2003:1177 [ref. 27021], Moore et al. 2003:219 [ref. 27076], Johnson et al. 2009:237 [ref. 30005], Carneiro et al. 2019:153 [ref. 37250], Page et al. 2023:106 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Ataxolepis apus Myers & Freihofer 1966. Cetomimidae. Distribution: Atlantic and Pacific. Habitat: marine.
