Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:426 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Tridentopsis pearsoni Myers 1925 -- (Burgess 1989:325 [ref. 12860], Azpelicueta 1990:987 [ref. 19207], Chang & Ortega 1995:4 [ref. 24302], de Pinna & Wosiacki in Reis et al. 2003:286 [ref. 27061], López et al. 2003:41 [ref. 27366], Menni 2004:82 [ref. 28131], Ferraris 2007:426 [ref. 29155], Barriga Salazar 2014:111 [ref. 35745] as cf. pearsoni, Sarmiento et al. 2014:193 [ref. 35004], Fernández et al. 2015:13 [ref. 35041], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:71 [ref. 35633], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:24 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Tridentopsis pearsoni Myers 1925. Trichomycteridae: Tridentinae. Distribution: South America: upper Amazon River basin (Ecuador?, Bolivia, Colombia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
