Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:36-37 [ref. 12291] with suggestion that type was introduced from mainland China, Ho & Shao 2011:64 [ref. 31432]. •Valid as Ptychidio jordani Myers 1930 -- (Wu et al. 1977:360 [ref. 4807], Chen & Chen 1989:378 [ref. 17650], Chu & Cui in Chu & Chen 1989:234 [ref. 13584], Zheng et al. 1989:216 [ref. 21202], Chen et al. in Pan et al. 1991:177 [ref. 23876], Zhu 1995:69 [ref. 25213], Zhang et al. in Yue 2000:229 [ref. 25272], Ho & Shao 2011:64 [ref. 31432], Zhang et al. 2016:115 [ref. 34477], Zheng et al. 2016:145 [ref. 34678]). Current status: Valid as Ptychidio jordani Myers 1930. Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: Upper Pearl River basin, China and Vietnam (and possibly Taiwan). Habitat: freshwater.
