Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:26 [ref. 12291], Vari & Howe 1991:37 [ref. 19022]. •Valid as Rhinobrycon negrensis Myers 1944 -- (Malabarba in Reis et al. 2003:155 [ref. 27061], Baicere-Silva et al. 2011:383 [ref. 31395], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:59 [ref. 35633], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:19 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Rhinobrycon negrensis Myers 1944. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: Orinoco River basin (Brazil, Colombia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
