Current status: Valid as Smilosicyopus fehlmanni (Parenti & Maciolek 1993). Gobiidae: Sicydiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Palau Islands, West Papua (Indonesia), New Britain (Papua New Guinea) and Solomon Islands to New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
