Holotype established in caption to Pl. 5, type, no. 17016, 78 mm. •Valid as Hemiloricaria beni (Pearson 1924) -- (Isbrücker et al. 2001:23 [ref. 25649], Isbrücker 2001:27, 29 [ref. 25653], Isbrücker 2002:17 [ref. 27178], Knaack 2002:59 [ref. 27493], Ferraris 2007:245 [ref. 29155]). •Valid as Rineloricaria beni (Pearson 1924) -- (Isbrücker 1980:103 [ref. 2303], Isbrücker 1981:87 [ref. 5522], Burgess 1989:441 [ref. 12860], Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:341 [ref. 27061], Sarmiento et al. 2014:192 [ref. 35004]). Current status: Valid as Rineloricaria beni (Pearson 1924). Loricariidae: Loricariinae. Distribution: Beni River basin, Bolivia. Habitat: freshwater.
