Holotype: CAS 95165. Paratypes: CAS 95166 (11), 95167 (7), 95168 (11), 95169 (19, 3 c&s). •Valid as Serpenticobitis octozona Roberts 1997 -- (Kottelat 2001:93 [ref. 25780], Kottelat 2012:73 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:198 [ref. 32989], Taki et al. 2021:200 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Serpenticobitis octozona Roberts 1997. Serpenticobitidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Xe Kong River drainage, southern Laos and Cambodia. Habitat: freshwater.
