Paralectotypes: CAS-SU 1632 (37, incl. lectotype). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:79 [ref. 12291]. Lectotype established (as figured specimen) in Jordan 1896:244 [ref. 2395] if specimen is identifiable; also caption to Pl. 224, p. 3279 in Jordan & Evermann 1900 [ref. 2446] if figured specimen is identifiable. •Synonym of Umbrina xanti Gill 1862 -- (Walker & Radford 1992:578 [ref. 20257], Chao in Fischer et al. 1995:1518 [ref. 22830], Castro-Aguirre et al. 1999:370 [ref. 24550] as sinaloe, Parenti 2020:57 [ref. 37439]). Current status: Synonym of Umbrina xanti Gill 1862. Sciaenidae. Habitat: marine.
