Holotype: CAS 13520. Paratypes: CAS 13656 (1 c&s), 13657 (2); USNM 205698 (2). Type catalog: Springer et al. 1991:5 [ref. 18888]. •Valid as Omox biporos Springer 1972 -- (Springer & Gomon 1975:79 [ref. 6083], Kawanabe & Mizuno 1989:651 [ref. 25598], Springer 1981:704 [ref. 8545], Yoshino in Masuda et al. 1984:296 [ref. 6441], Myers 1999:220 [ref. 23965], Springer in Randall & Lim 2000:633 [ref. 25122], Nakabo 2000:1112 [ref. 25182], Sakai et al. 2001:105 [ref. 25693], Springer 2001:3545 [ref. 26290], Nakabo 2002:1112 [ref. 26193], Randall 2005:499 [ref. 28239], Hoese & Bray 2006:1559 [ref. 29000], Patzner et al. 2009:458 [ref. 30396], Allen & Erdmann 2012:785 [ref. 31980], Larson et al. 2013:181 [ref. 32988], Fricke et al. 2014:152 [ref. 33932]). Current status: Valid as Omox biporos Springer 1972. Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Australia and New Caledonia north to Ryukyu Islands; throughout most of the East Indian region. Habitat: brackish, marine.
