Original states that type is CAS 599, a photograph. •Synonym of Thunnus albacares (Bonnaterre 1788) -- (Gibbs & Collette 1967:103 [ref. 13640], Collette & Nauen 1983:83 [ref. 5375], Collette 1990:993 [ref. 19476], Collette 2003:14 [ref. 27312], Mundy 2005:507 [ref. 28379]). Current status: Synonym of Thunnus albacares (Bonnaterre 1788). Scombridae: Scombrinae. Habitat: marine.
