Type catalog: Kullander 1986:146 [ref. 12439]. •Synonym of Crenicara punctulatum (Günther 1863) -- (Kullander 1986:140 [ref. 12439], Kullander & Staeck 1990:161 [ref. 16012], Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:626 [ref. 27061], Staeck 2003:132 [ref. 27488]). •Perhaps should be Crenicara punctulatus. Current status: Synonym of Crenicara punctulata (Günther 1863). Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Habitat: freshwater.
