Holotype BSMP 13026 destroyed; neotype selected by Maeda et al. 2012:320 [ref. 32002]. •Valid as Stiphodon pulchellus (Herre 1927) -- (Maeda et al. 2012:287 [ref. 31973], Maeda et al. 2012:320 [ref. 32002], Maeda 2013:(7) [ref. 33023], Kottelat 2013:431 [ref. 32989], Maeda & Palla 2015:394 [ref. 33960], Maeda et al. 2015:256 [ref. 33999], Keith et al. 2015:226 [ref. 34328], Jamandre 2023:170 [ref. 40455]). Current status: Valid as Stiphodon pulchellus (Herre 1927). Gobiidae: Sicydiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Philippines [supposedly amphidromous]. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
