Holotype: CAS-SU 49757. Paratypes: ANSP 75929 (1); CAS-SU 49758-59 (1, 1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:42 [ref. 13621]. •Valid as Brycon acutus Böhlke 1958 -- (Ovchynnyk 1967:27 [ref. 37559]). •Synonym of Brycon alburnus (Günther 1860) -- (Howes 1982:6 [ref. 14201], Lima in Reis et al. 2003:175 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Synonym of Brycon alburnus (Günther 1860). Bryconidae: Bryconinae. Habitat: freshwater.
