Paratypes: CAS 64619 [ex IU 17357] (orig. 12, now 9), UMMZ 66508 (3). Additional original material: CAS 46988 [ex IU 15069; now combined with IU 17548] (46). Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:65 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Astroblepus longiceps Pearson 1924 -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:18 [ref. 9708], Burgess 1989:449 [ref. 12860], Schaefer in Reis et al. 2003:314 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:65 [ref. 29155], Ardila Rodríguez 2014:3 [ref. 33721] with parentheses around author, Ardila Rodríguez 2014:5 [ref. 33776], Sarmiento et al. 2014:139, 189 [ref. 35004]). Current status: Valid as Astroblepus longiceps Pearson 1924. Astroblepidae. Distribution: Upper Madeira River basin: Bolivia and Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
