W.] in Eigenmann 1918:687 [Proceedings of the American Philosophical Society v. 56 (no. 7); ref. 12304] Río Barranca Alta at Narnjito, western Ecuador. Holotype (unique): CAS 39436 [ex IU 13470]. •Synonym of Brycon atrocaudatus (Kner 1863), but probably a distinct species -- (Howes 1982:25 [ref. 14201]). •Synonym of Brycon atrocaudatus (Kner 1863) -- (Howes 1982:9 [ref. 14201], Lima in Reis et al. 2003:175 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Synonym of Brycon atrocaudatus (Kner 1863). Bryconidae: Bryconinae. Habitat: freshwater.
