Holotype: CAS 18396 [ex IU 13116]. Paratypes: ?BMNH 1920.12.20.86-87 (2), CAS 61721 [ex IU 13116] (4), FMNH 56612 (2), MCZ 30929 (4), ?UMMZ 185287 (2), ?197554 (4); USNM 76968-69 (1, 8). Additional material: CAS 11633 [ex IU 13114] (8), 61419 [ex IU 13113] (14); FMNH 10280-83 (1, 1, 1, 1), 56610-11 (10, 2); CAS-SU 22777 (4); IU 13115 not found. Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:25 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:51 [ref. 12367]. •Valid as Leporinus ecuadorensis Eigenmann & Henn 1916 -- (Ovchynnyk 1967:31 [ref. 37559], Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:75 [ref. 27061], Barriga Salazar 2014:105 [ref. 35745], Jiménez-Prado et al. 2015:90 [ref. 34894] with authorship as Rendahl 1937, Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:15 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Leporinus ecuadorensis Eigenmann & Henn 1916. Anostomidae. Distribution: South America: Ecuador and Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
