Type catalog: Vari & Howe 1991:9 [ref. 19022]. Lectotype selected by Eigenmann 1922:322 [ref. 1243]. Moreira in Reis et al. 2003:177 [ref. 27061] indicates that Eschmeyer 1998 was incorrect in stating that Eigenmann designated a lectotype; Eigenmann did establish the lectotype on p. 322 [not 232] in the caption to Pl. 23. •Valid as Brycon meeki Eigenmann & Hildebrand 1918 -- (Howes 1982:34 [ref. 14201], Malabarba 1998:76 [ref. 23840], Lima in Reis et al. 2003:177 [ref. 27061], Mirande 2010:483 [ref. 31006], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:63 [ref. 35633]). Current status: Valid as Brycon meeki Eigenmann & Hildebrand 1918. Bryconidae: Bryconinae. Distribution: South America: Trans-Andean river basins in Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.
