No parentheses are needed around the author and date in the combination Pomadasys bayanus (Art. 51.3.1 of the Code). •Synonym of Pomadasys bayanus Jordan & Evermann 1898 -- (McKay & Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995:1167 [ref. 22829]). •Synonym of Rhonciscus bayanus (Jordan & Evermann 1898) -- (Parenti 2019:172 [ref. 37021]). Current status: Synonym of Rhonciscus bayanus (Jordan & Evermann 1898). Haemulidae: Haemulinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
