Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:16 [ref. 12291]. •Mention -- (Cussac et al. 2004:105 [ref. 27813]). •Synonym of Aplochiton taeniatus Jenyns 1842 -- (McDowall 1971:38 [ref. 23675], McDowall & Nakaya 1987:380 [ref. 6701], Berra in Reis et al. 2003:504 [ref. 27061]). •Valid as Aplochiton marinus Eigenmann 1928 -- (Pequeño 1989:29 [ref. 14125], Dyer 2000:85 [ref. 26678] with question, Alò et al. 2013:1 [ref. 33368]). Current status: Valid as Aplochiton marinus Eigenmann 1928. Galaxiidae: Aplochitoninae. Distribution: Chile. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
