Syntypes: BMNH 1900.9.29.250 [from Jordan] (1), SU 3141 (14), USNM 47733 (2). •Valid as Sphagemacrurus gibber (Gilbert & Cramer 1897) -- (Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:288 [ref. 18936], Mundy 2005:256 [ref. 28379]). Current status: Valid as Sphagemacrurus gibber (Gilbert & Cramer 1897). Macrouridae. Distribution: Central Pacific: Hawaiian Ridge, Hawaiian Islands, equatorial Central Pacific. Habitat: marine.
