Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:79 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Pareques perissa (Heller & Snodgrass 1903) -- (Allen & Robertson 1994:167 [ref. 22193], Chao in Fischer et al. 1995:1497 [ref. 22830], Grove & Lavenberg 1997:420 [ref. 24023], McCosker et al. 1997:25 [ref. 22816], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:192 [ref. 30957], Parenti 2020:41 [ref. 37439]). Current status: Valid as Pareques perissa (Heller & Snodgrass 1903). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Galápagos Islands (Ecuador) endemic. Habitat: marine.
