Type designated by Jordan & Gilbert 1877:93 [ref. 4907]. •Synonym of Etheostoma Rafinesque 1819, but a valid subgenus Hololepis -- (Collette 1962 [ref. 5865], Collette & Bănărescu 1977:1457 [ref. 5845], Bailey & Etnier 1988:27 [ref. 6873]). •A valid clade name -- (Near et al. 2011:593 [ref. 31507]). Current status: Synonym of Etheostoma Rafinesque 1819. Percidae: Etheostomatinae. |
