Maxillingua (subgenus of Exoglossum) Rafinesque [C. S.] 1818:420, 421 Fem. Cyprinus maxillingua Lesueur 1817. Type by absolute tautonymy. Proposed as a possible section [subgenus] of Exoglossum, and from the text taxon included more than one species. •Objective junior synonym of Exoglossum Rafinesque 1818 -- (Gilbert 1998:17 [ref. 23395]). Current status: Synonym of Exoglossum Rafinesque 1818. Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. |
