Mastigophorus Kaup [J. J.] 1873:82 Masc. Three included species, orientalis, macracanthus and chirophthalmus [= cheirophthalmus]. It predates Dactyloptena Jordan & Richardson 1908, but is preoccupied by Mastigophorus Poey 1832 in Lepidoptera. •Synonym of Dactyloptena Jordan & Richardson 1908. 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Dactyloptena Jordan & Richardson 1908. Dactylopteridae.
