Lectotype: USNM 76336. Paralectotypes: (2) BMNH 1891.5.19.171 (1). On p. 3 of separate. Emended to brachychir by Eigenmann & Eigenmann 1890 [ref. 1256]. Original genus should have been Notoscopelus. Lectotype designation not researched, not designated here. •Synonym of Notoscopelus resplendens (Richardson 1845) -- (Krefft & Bekker 1973:194 [ref. 7181], Paxton 1979:16 [ref. 6440], Hulley 1990:460 [ref. 15273], Hulley 1990:168 [ref. 21685]). Current status: Synonym of Notoscopelus resplendens (Richardson 1845). Myctophidae: Gymnoscopelinae. Habitat: marine.
