Type catalog: Collette & Knapp 1967:58-59 [ref. 20211]. •Synonym of Percina notogramma (Raney & Hubbs 1948), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Lee et al. 1980:730 [ref. 22416], Kuehne & Barbour 1983:39 [ref. 38055], Page 1983:39 [ref. 22189], Stauffer et al. 1995:329 [ref. 23376], Scharpf 2008:39 [ref. 30399], Page & Burr 2011:516 [ref. 31215]). Current status: Synonym of Percina notogramma (Raney & Hubbs 1948). Percidae: Etheostomatinae. Distribution: North America: James River system, Virginia and West Virginia (U.S.A.) [subspecies montuosa]. Habitat: freshwater.
