D.] 1867:365, Pl. 11 (fig. 4) [Transactions of the American Philosophical Society (New Series) v. 13 (pt 3) (art. 13); ref. 910] Montreal River, Keweenaw Point, Keweenaw County, Michigan, U.S.A., Lake Superior. Lectotype: ANSP 2152. Paralectotypes: ANSP 2153-56 (4). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:88 [ref. 13621] but as syntypes because lectotype was not separated out, but lectotype as established by Fowler 1918:35 [ref. 11665] should be 146 mm (caudal damaged), Gilbert 1998:136 [ref. 23395] with syntypes. Sometimes cited as Cope in Günther 1868:177 [ref. 1990] but that appeared later. •Synonym of Couesius plumbeus (Agassiz 1850) -- (Smith 1986:136 [ref. 22186], Scott & Crossman 1998:406 [ref. 24570]). •Synonym of Couesius plumbeus (Agassiz 1850), subspecies plumbeus -- (Gilbert 1998:136 [ref. 23395]). Current status: Synonym of Couesius plumbeus (Agassiz 1850). Leuciscidae: Plagopterinae. Habitat: freshwater.
