eduardiana, Tilapia Boulenger [G. A.] 1912:138 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 8) v. 10 (no. 55); ref. 14832] Southeastern slope of Mt. Ruwenzori, Uganda, elevation 3200 feet. Syntypes: BMNH 1907.4.20.21-26 (6). •Synonym of Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus 1758), but a valid subspecies eduardianus (Boulenger 1912) -- (Trewavas & Teugels 1991:329 [ref. 20954], Poll & Gosse 1995:285 [ref. 24781]). Current status: Synonym of Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus 1758). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
