A (Comptes Rendus de l'Académie des Sciences de l'URSS), Leningrad v. 54 (no. 1); ref. 4315] Southern part of Lake Baikal, Russia, depth 60-200 meters. No types at ZIN. Syntypes: (12). Type catalog: Spodareva et al. 2023:248 [ref. 40445] with neotype. Questionably available, virtually no distinguishing features. Neotype (ZIN 52223) incorrectly designated by Spodareva et al. 2023:248 [ref. 40445]. •Synonym of Procottus jeittelesii (Dybowski 1874), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Berg 1949:1169 [ref. 20662], Taliev 1955:307 [ref. 4316]). •Synonym of Procottus gurwicii [often as gurwici] (Taliev 1946) -- (Sideleva 1982:27 [ref. 14469], Sideleva 1998:158 [ref. 23595], Sideleva 2001:72 [ref. 26181], Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:200 [ref. 28183]). •Valid as Procottus minor Taliev 1946 -- (Bogdanov 2023:71 [ref. 40329]). Current status: Valid as Procottus minor Taliev 1946. Cottidae. Distribution: Russia: Lake Baikal, Habitat: freshwater.
