Günther 1870:63 spelled the species rhytododerma [on ref. 29192]. •Valid as Ophichthus derbyensis Whitley 1941 -- (McCosker 1977:81 [ref. 6836] as derbeyensis). •Synonym of Ophichthus rutidodermatoides (Bleeker 1853) -- (Paxton et al. 1989:120 [ref. 12442]). •Synonym of Ophichthus rutidoderma (Bleeker 1852) -- (McCosker et al. 2006:272 [ref. 29006], McCosker 2007:6 [ref. 29192], Kottelat 2013:46 [ref. 32989], Vo et al. 2019:9 [ref. 37206]). Current status: Synonym of Ophichthus rutidoderma (Bleeker 1852). Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
