Reasons for loss of ZSI type specimens during WWII see Chopra 1947:349-350 [ref. 33077]. •Synonym of Nemacheilus mooreh (Sykes 1839) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:490 [ref. 20764] as moreh, Menon 1999:181 [ref. 24904] as Noemacheilus moreh). •Synonym of Acanthocobitis botia (Hamilton 1822) -- (Kottelat 1990:28 [ref. 14137]). •Synonym of Acanthocobitis mooreh (Sykes 1839) -- (Kottelat 2012:76 [ref. 32678]). •Valid as Acanthocobitis aurea (Day 1872), but a valid subgenus Paracanthocobitis Grant 2008. •Valid as Paracanthocobitis aurea (Day 1872) -- (Singer & Page 2015:385 [ref. 33823], Bleher 2018:188 [ref. 36647]). Current status: Valid as Paracanthocobitis aurea (Day 1872). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: Himalaya Foothills, northern India. Habitat: freshwater.
