Lectotype: ZSI F4150/2. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1928.3.20.133 [ex ZSI] (1) (not this species [ref. 35160]). Type catalog: Menon & Yazdani 1968:160 [ref. 20743]. Lectotype selected by Menon 1977:70 [ref. 7071]. •Synonym of Cynoglossus cynoglossus (Hamilton 1822) -- (Menon 1977:68 [ref. 7071], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:1041 [ref. 20764], Kottelat 2013:466 [ref. 32989], Allen & Erdmann 2024:1365 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Synonym of Cynoglossus cynoglossus (Hamilton 1822). Cynoglossidae: Cynoglossinae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
