kowala, Spratella Bleeker [P.] 1851:492 [Natuurkundig Tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch Indië v. 2 (no. 3); ref. 16898] Rio and Jakarta, Java, Indonesia. Lectotype: RMNH 7091. Paralectotypes: (25) BMNH 1867.11.28.43 (1), RMNH 23479 [ex RMNH 7091] (some of 17). Also appeared in Bleeker 1852:28 [ref. 16826]. •Synonym of Sardinella albella (Valenciennes 1847) -- (Whitehead 1985:91 [ref. 5141], Stern et al. 2016:6 [ref. 34733]). Current status: Synonym of Sardinella albella (Valenciennes 1847). Dorosomatidae. Habitat: marine.
