ardelio, Reporhamphus Whitley [G. P.] 1931:314 [Australian Zoologist v. 6 (pt 4); ref. 4672] Ikula, near mouth of Clarence River, New South Wales, Australia. Lectotype: AMS I.12744. Paralectotypes: AMS I.12745-46 (1, 1). Lectotype selected by Whitley 1959:310 [ref. 4729]. Based on Hemirhamphus regularis described and figured by Stead 1908:37, Pl. 11 [ref. 18743]. •Synonym of Hyporhamphus regularis (Günther 1866) -- (Collette 1974:55 [ref. 12930], Paxton et al. 1989:338 [ref. 12442], Gomon et al. 1994:391 [ref. 22532], Paxton et al. 2006:737 [ref. 28994]). •Synonym of Hyporhamphus regularis (Günther 1866), but a valid subspecies ardelio (Whitley 1931) -- (Johnson 1999:724 [ref. 25471], Collette 2004:10 [ref. 27583]). Current status: Synonym of Hyporhamphus regularis (Günther 1866). Hemiramphidae. Habitat: marine.
