rabdophorus, Sisor Hamilton [F.] 1822:208, 379 [An account of the fishes found in the river Ganges; ref. 2031] Bhagirathi River at crossing point between Kalna (Barddhaman District) and Nisinghapur (Nadia District), 23°13'33"N, 88°32'41.4"E, West Bengal State, India. Neotype: ZRC 45829. Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:402 [ref. 29155], Ng & Kim 2008:68 [ref. 29920]. Neotype designated by Ng 2003:2872, 2880 [ref. 27187]. Spelled rhabdophorus by Valenciennes and other authors; that would have been more correctly formed, but the 1999 code does not permit emendation.
