Type catalog: Bertin 1940:264-265 [ref. 293]. Description based on a specimen of about 32 cm that is apparently lost. Two other specimens were mentioned, one of 270 mm (A.9616) and of 90 mm (A.9617); they are regarded as syntypes. The page number is from a different edition. •Synonym of Marcusenius cyprinoides (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Gosse 1984:81 [ref. 6169] with MNHN A.9616 as holotype). Current status: Synonym of Marcusenius cyprinoides (Linnaeus 1758). Mormyridae. Habitat: freshwater.
