Podateles Boulenger 1902 is an unneeded replacement, not preoccupied by Atelopus Dumeril & Bibron 1841 in Reptilia or by Ateleopus Agassiz 1846:39 [ref. 64], an unjustified emendation of an amphibian genus probably published after Temminck & Schlegel (Whitley 1976:46 [ref. 4735]). •Valid as Ateleopus Temminck & Schlegel 1846 -- (Mochizuki in Masuda et al. 1984:115 [ref. 6441], Smith 1986:404 [ref. 5712], Paxton et al. 1989:403 [ref. 12442], Moore 1999:1918 [ref. 24745], Moore 2003:913 [ref. 27002], Bray & Hoese 2006:457 [ref. 29049], Senou et al. 2008:13 [ref. 29566] dated 1847, Shinohara et al. 2011:39 [ref. 31715], Kaga et al. 2015:389, 391 [ref. 33987], Kaga 2016:562 [ref. 34246], Kaga 2017:583 [ref. 35175], Golani & Fricke 2018:33 [ref. 36273]). Current status: Valid as Ateleopus Temminck & Schlegel 1846. Ateleopodidae.

Guentherus Osório [B.] 1917:117 Masc. Guentherus altivela Osório 1917. Type by monotypy. Spelled Güntherus two of four times and Guntherus two of four times (pp. 105, 117); correct spelling will be Guentherus or Guntherus depending on first reviser [not researched]. Although genus is masculine, species spelling should not be emended according to Bussing & López 1977:181 [ref. 7001]. •Valid as Guentherus Osório 1917 -- (Bussing & López S. 1977 [ref. 7001], Paxton in Whitehead et al. 1986:528 [ref. 13676], Smith 1986:405 [ref. 5712], Senou et al. 2008:13 [ref. 29566], Kaga et al. 2015:389 [ref. 33987]). Current status: Valid as Guentherus Osório 1917. Ateleopodidae.

Ijimaia Sauter [H.] 1905:235 Fem. Ijimaia dofleini Sauter 1905. Type by original designation (also monotypic).
