Appeared first without species; addition of species not researched. Scopoli's spelling is Mastocembelus on Gronow's 1763 unavailable [Mastacembelus]; Scopoli's spelling regarded as in error (see Sufi 1956:106 [ref. 12498]; see also Wheeler 1956:91 [ref. 12499] for type species).
